Step on into my virtual living room where I would love to introduce you to a few of my favorite people and a few of my favorite things.

These amazing ladies are close friends of mine who use their talents to inspire others to realize the love God has for them and grow closer in their walk with Him.

Stacy Boatman is not only my sister but she is also one of my closest friends. This amazing lady works as a pediatric nurse, manages a bustling household of six, fights against human trafficking, runs marathons, and writes novels. Her debut novel, Bittersweet Goodbye, is one of my favorite books. It carries a beautiful message of how love, faith, and friendship can bring healing in even the most devastating circumstances.

Cara from Sixbrownbears

My dear friend, Cara Bruinius, has a contagious passion for God’s Word. Cara has a heart for Bible study, worship, and prayer. Whatever Cara is doing, she is doing it 100%. She doesn’t just read her Bible, she steeps herself in it. Worship? She is in with arms raised. And prayer…my friend is a true prayer warrior. Stop by her blog and see for yourself!

What Love Looks Like by Stacy Boatman is an inspirational Christian novel set in the fictional town of Diamond, Minnesota. While reading this book, I found myself wishing I could pop into Lakeview Brew, go apple picking at Diamond Orchard, or stop by Adelia’s Bakery. Most of all, I kept turning the pages to discover if the main character would find the lasting love she had spent her life longing for. I thoroughly enjoyed this treasure of a book and its beautiful portrayal of forgiveness, restoration, and love.

The Power of Praying for Your Adult Children by Stormie Omartian.

You can tell by the well-worn cover that I spend a lot of time in this book. Praying for Your Adult Children has helped me to work on the shift from hands-on parenting to relinquishing control and doing my parenting on my knees. Stormie Omartian is the wonderful author of the Praying books including Praying Wife, Praying Husband, Praying Woman, and Prayer Warrior.

After the Boxes are Unpacked by Susan Miller.

A dear friend gave me this book years ago when my family moved from the Midwest to the East Coast. Susan Miller’s words were a great encouragement after the dust settled following the whirlwind flurry of packing, trekking across the country, and unpacking. It was at this point that I began to address how to settle in and feel at home in our new surroundings. I recommend this book for anyone experiencing a move.
