The collection of shoes next to our front door is evidence that our home is once again filled with our children. I try to offer up every breath as a prayer for our country and our world. Meanwhile, I look for the signs of God’s presence around me. There are many. Sending prayers to those of you joining me today. Please feel free to let me know how I can be praying for you. 💕

Family walk.

The LORD is my rock, my fortress, and my savior; my God is my rock, in whom I find protection. He is my shield, the power that saves me, and my place of safety.

Psalm 18:2 (NLT)
One of many chalk messages spotted along our walks.

Wait patiently for the LORD . Be brave and courageous. Yes, wait patiently for the LORD

Psalm 27:14 (NLT)
The view from a neighborhood hill.

I look up to the mountains—
does my help come from there?
My help comes from the Lord,
    who made heaven and earth!

He will not let you stumble;
the one who watches over you will not slumber.
Indeed, he who watches over Israel
    never slumbers or sleeps.

The Lord himself watches over you!
The Lord stands beside you as your protective shade.

The sun will not harm you by day,
    nor the moon at night.

The Lord keeps you from all harm
    and watches over your life.
The Lord keeps watch over you as you come and go,
    both now and forever.

Psalm 121 (NLT)

Dear Lord, thank you we can rely on you as our strength, shelter, and protector. Help us to keep our eyes on you. Amen.

  1. I love seeing families walking together around our neighborhood. My sister and brother-in law live in my same development (Wood Ranch), so sometimes we meet up and walk together…just 6 feet apart. Yesterday, we saw a family all wearing tie-dyed t-shirts they had made from an old kit in the cabinet that had been long forgotten. Even the dog had a tie-dyed bandana around his neck!

On another note, someone recently reminded me that some homes are not a happy place for kids to come home to and we need to remember to pray for them.

Thank you for sharing your story, Kristen!

    1. Hi, Jackie! Thank you for the reminder. Not everyone is as blessed to use this time to safely cocoon with loved ones. It hurts my heart, and I will remember to pray for those who are suffering without the safety net of school.
